Mr. Lam is an entrepreneur and investor with over 20 years of business experience including over 10 years investing in Vietnam. He is founder and Managing Director of the RDA VIETNAM FUND, a US based equity fund focusing on investments in Vietnam. Prior to RDA, Mr. Lam was co-founder and Managing Director of the EMA VIETNAM FUND. He was also the Vietnam Portfolio Manager of the EMA GARP FUND. He has managed investments in Vietnam through the Vietnam economic crisis of 2007-2008 and the global financial crisis of 2008-2009 and has significantly outperformed the benchmark VN-Index during this time.
Prior to managing investments in Vietnam, Mr. Lam was a successful entrepreneur having co-founded several high-growth companies including Cambridge Energy Solutions, the leading solutions provider for energy markets; Viable Technologies, the leading communication service provider for the hearing impaired; and JungleSoft, one of the first mobile location-based companies.
Mr. Lam is a member of the Launchpad Venture Group. For a number of years, he has been an angel investor and advisor to early stage companies in the US, China, and Vietnam. He received a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park.
